Located in southern Spain amidst the kaleidoscope of cathedrals and mosques, festivals and ancient cities, the University of Córdoba offers students an opportunity to study alongside your Spanish peers in a variety of subjects. All subjects are conducted in Spanish and are most appropriate for advanced students of Spanish who want to study Spanish literature, language and other related subjects.

. Students must also submit an essay, one reference letter and an official transcript to VCU Education Abroad. Applicants can pay the $150 application fee online and submit the confirmation printout or pay in person with cash, check or credit card.

Curriculum
VCU students may participate in courses under the regular curriculum at UCO. Recommended departments include the Facultad de Filosofía y letras, Departamento de traducción e interpretación, Facultad de Ciencias de la educación, Facultad de Ciencias del trabajo, and Facultad de Derecho. Courses consist of midterms and a two week exam period at the end of each semester, although some exams are substituted by essays or papers. Exchange students can choose to study for either spring semester or with advance permission, an entire academic year.

Transfer of credit
Students must earn the equivalent of a C grade or higher in a given course to be eligible for transfer credit. Students are required to take the necessary steps to ensure that transcripts are received from the university upon return to VCU. All courses will count as honors courses.
Academic calendar
Fall semester: Late September until late January
Spring semester: Early-February until mid-June
Students may study in the spring semester or full year only because of the overlap in academic calendars.
Housing
Students can live with either Spanish families or in residence halls (Colegios mayors). The home stays provide private rooms three meals a day and share all common areas. One load of white clothes and one load of colored clothes will be washed for them each week. The residence halls offer private rooms with shared bathrooms. The rooms cost approximately 500 euros a month with a full meal plan, or 425 euros a month with just breakfast and dinner. The halls are located outside the city center and linked to downtown with a quick and reliable train.
Tuition and fees
Academic tuition for VCU students is based on VCU tuition and fees. Room and board are paid directly to Córdoba.
Travel information
Students are responsible for making their own travel arrangements, including transportation from the airport or bus station to the University of Córdoba. Students are responsible for obtaining a student visa. When you receive the admission package from Córdoba, you should apply for the student visa promptly.
