VCU International Partnership Universities

VCU Global Education Office

VCU faculty

Virginia Commonwealth University’s international partnerships offer excellent opportunities for faculty to enrich their research, teaching, service and professional development. The potential goes beyond faculty and student exchanges embracing teaching and research collaborations designed to create long-term relationships between VCU, partnership faculty and their academic units.

Funding

As part of the VCU 2020 Strategic Plan, the Board of Visitors approved the dedication of university resources to support undergraduate and graduate-level initiatives with VCU’s 15 partner universities. Permanent annual funding is allocated to the Global Education Office with fund matching available from VCU deans to sustain the contributions the international partnerships provide to our research, teaching and service missions. For information on how to develop and submit proposals for funding, view the proposals to collaborate with a VCU International Partnership University [Excel]. Faculty members are encouraged to participate and should express their interest to the appropriate partnership director.

Major Initiatives Award

Each year, the Global Education Office provides funding for projects that take advantage of VCU’s 15 international university partnerships to substantively impact the university and enhance the preparation of VCU students for an increasingly globalized workplace. The Major Initiatives Program seeks to raise the global reach and visibility of VCU while linking research, teaching and community engagement efforts. The 2012 Major Initiatives Award cycle is now closed. Applications for the next cycle will be accepted in spring 2013.
