GEO staff attend Korea International Portfolio Day
Staff members from VCU’s Global Education Office (GEO) teamed up with the VCU School of the Arts for The Korea International Portfolio Day held in Seoul, Korea in November. At the first time event, Korean high schoolers brought their art portfolios for review and discussion about admissions to VCU and other art schools around the world.
GEO’s Sarah Young, international admissions processor, and Wayan Mastriyana, international credential evaluator, assisted the School of the Arts by providing information about the international admissions and immigration processes.
Two Korean alumni visited with the representatives of VCU during the visit. Kitai “Justin” Kim, who now works for Hannam University in Korea, spoke to the group during an alumni event held at a local restaurant. He encouraged further alumni engagement through multiple collaborative ventures. Hyun Kyung Yoon, a VCU graduate of the School of the Arts and VCU adjunct professor, served as a translator and tour guide during the visit.
